J.D. Sorys, Assistant Manager.

J.D. has been an employee at the Club since 2008 while attending the University of Nebraska.  J.D. recently graduated and is excited to put his Club experience to use in a management capacity.  He has previously worked at other local restaurants throughout his college career, and actually began his restaurant experience at the age of 15 when he started work as a busboy through his high school years.

"Food has always been my passion and I am more than happy to make your dining experience a memorable one.  Please stop and visit with me any time - your comments and suggestions will help the staff and me in our efforts to ensure that the Club meets all your expectations, every time."

Patrick Durkin, Executive Chef

Patrick graduated at the top of his class at the Orlando Culinary Academy where he learned the classic techniques of French cuisine.  He subsequently worked as Sous Chef for Chapters in Winter Park, Florida, and became Executive Chef within months.  Patrick has since worked for JR's Fine Dining Steakhouse in Texas, and upon moving to Lincoln, Nebraska, to be closer to his wife's family, Patrick took a chef position with Scrumpy Jacks.  He subsequently took a position to become the first chef for Eastmont Towers where over the next three years he introduced new ideas and cuisine to the delight of its residents.  Patrick is looking forward to changing up the menu at the Nebraska Club to include multicultural dishes, adding some new touches to classics, and bringing new approaches to lighter fare and comfort foods.

Allen Schleicher, Banquet Manager

Allen started working at The Nebraska Club in 1976 as a bus person.  He then joined the wait staff, moved on to Banquet Supervisor, and now serves as Banquet Manager.

"It has been a wonderful experience seeing and working so many different events.  From the initial planning stages to the final event, it has truly been an honor to be a part of so many special occasions."
